Job Description

Overview:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a fulltime water resources engineer or hydrogeologist interested in developing innovative solutions to challenging groundwaterrelated projects. The preferred location for this position is our Sacramento CA office but we are also open to our other office locations in CA. As a key member of our team you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on a wide array of integrated water resources modeling and planning projects and provide services to local state and federal clients throughout California and beyond. Office location is flexible and a virtual work arrangement can be accommodated.

Responsibilities:

    • Actively develop calibrate and apply hydrogeologic conceptual and groundwater flow models to support policy and regulatory processes.
    • Support a wide variety of groundwater management and planning activities related to SGMA implementation water supply assessment and management studies and conduct groundwater analysis in support of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
    • Conduct complex data analysis related to water resources management including:

    • Compile review process and analyze hydrogeologic data using spreadsheets databases GIS graphing software and computer programming.
      Evaluate land surface operations including land use data analysis and quantify agricultural and urban water supplies and demands.
      Prepare data summaries and graphics presentations technical reports and memoranda.
      Develop tools using codes such as Python or other programming languages to support and analyze groundwater modeling projects.

Qualifications:

    • BS in Water Resources Engineering Civil & Environmental Engineering Hydrology Hydrogeology or a related field MS/PhD preferred.
    • The candidate must be a proactive communicator both internally and externally and work with both junior and senior project staff.
    • Excellent organizational writing presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in working on water resources groundwater and/or closely related projects; specific experience with local and regional modeling is highly desirable.
    • Current or prior knowledge of California regulations is desirable.
    • Experience with hydrologic modeling platforms such as CA Department of Water Resources Integrated Water Resources Model (IWFM) and/or US Geological Surveys MODFLOW models is desirable.
    • Experience with programing languages such as Python for data analysis is desirable.
$75000 $85000 a year
Pay:
This positions anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or nonexempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:
Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the roles organizational level and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings.

Vacation time is provided to full and parttime regular employees. Vacation is accrued based on the number of hours worked per week as well as prior years of experience.
