Job Description
Clinical Laboratory Director Histology Department
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Laboratory Director to lead our Histology Department. In this role you will oversee all technical and operational aspects of the laboratory while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering exceptional service quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team while driving innovation and operational excellence in a leading healthcare facility.
Core Responsibilities:
- Direct laboratory operations ensuring compliance with CAP JCAHO CLIA FDA and CMS standards
- Lead and develop a highperforming technical team through recruitment training and performance management
- Manage quality assurance programs including test methodology protocols and equipment validation
- Oversee departmental budget resource allocation and strategic planning initiatives
- Collaborate with medical directors to establish and monitor quality metrics and operational policies
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement innovative solutions
- Ensure excellent customer service and stakeholder satisfaction
- Manage laboratory information systems and technology advancement projects
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Histotechnology Medical Laboratory Science Medical Technology Biomedical Sciences Biology or Chemistry
- National Certification as a Medical or Histology Technologist
- 35 years of supervisory experience in Histology (Lab Manager or Director level)
- Proven experience in a hospital or central laboratory setting
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Excellence in team leadership and operational management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in related field
- Experience with laboratory information systems
- Project management certification
