We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our team as a Set Up Technician in Whitby ON.
This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate set up and maintain packaging equipment while packaging semifinished bulk into finished product form. This includes documentation requirements cleaning training mechanical support leading projects support department initiatives while supporting the needs of the Operations group in the area of material coordination compliance security and safety.
- Oversee all functions related to the Packaging Lines including operating and training instructions to new and temporary staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Operate equipment verify components usage.
- Inspect finished product.
- Perform all associated Packaging tasks as required.
- Complete required documentation while meeting compliance requirements.
- Support department initiatives including equipment setup teardown and minor troubleshooting.
- Assembly and disassembly of equipment during and after production runs.
- Complete necessary inspections and reconcile material usage including transporting approved materials to and from the Production line.
- Complete batch documents and audit documentation process including batch entries checks labour reporting and downtime.
- Ensure control and handling of labels to meet Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines.
- Provide support in monitoring performance measures and notify management of potential quality or regulatory issues that may affect product quality or regulatory issues.
- Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Perform alternating or rotating shift work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Mechanical proficiency and strong Mathematical skills.
- Ability to work at line speed and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain records of activities as instructed.
- Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Ability to stand walk stoop kneel crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift carry move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment and read materials for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to sit reach with hands and arms talk and hear for prolonged periods of time.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset.
- Previous WHMIS training an asset.
- Effective communication skills.
