The Mechanical Engineer for Global Research & Development will provide leadership in the design development and support for developmental material processes. This role will report into the Senior Manager Engineering and receives direction in the form of general project objectives. Assignments may vary from individual contribution to team leadership. Responsibilities include project results project control and effective use of human resources. Incumbent is a recognized leader in at least one area of technology possesses high standards of professional performance and demonstrates both personal and organizational sensitivity. This role will have project responsibility of $1 MM to $10 MM manage a project team of three to fifteen people and lead single or multiple projects.

In this role you will:

  • Provide leadership in the initiation design development and optimization of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives.
  • Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and leadership in application of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis. Provide advice and counsel sought by others.
  • Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and wellbeing of operators maintenance and other personnel.
  • Provide leadership in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.
  • Seek recognize define and solve problems/opportunities to achieve unit objectives.
  • Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies. Place emphasis on CFI and Internal Control.
  • Communicate fully with superiors subordinates and others who have need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely yet prompt; complete yet concise; candid yet accurate; and clear yet responsive.
  • Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbents expertise while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.
  • Analyze and improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability. Identify develop and provide leadership to implement products processes materials systems and procedures to achieve business objectives.

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in engineering or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in industry; experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments.
  • Previous nonwovens experience is a plus
  • Experience leading development and/or capital projects
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Ability to obtain a passport for travel

Grade 10/P2: Grade level and/or compensation may vary based on location

This role is available for local candidates already authorized to work in the roles country only. KimberlyClark will not provide relocation support for this role.
