Job Description

Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. *Please note that hours may vary at times depending on training sessions*

12month position

Salary: $58000 to $63000 depends on experience

Paid health dental and retirement benefits for employee.

Annual personal and sick days are available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Bachelors degree in Industrial Safety or related discipline preferred.

Experience:Minimum of three years safety experience in manufacturing/construction environment highly desirable.

Certifications:Certified OSHA 501 or 500 trainer preferred.

Skills:

Must be a selfstarter who is technology savvy with strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Must be organized and able to manage logistics of projects and/or programs. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors clients customers and the public.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To strengthen businesses by providing safety training and services to mitigate losses to people property and the environment.

CONTRACT:12 Month

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver safety training and other services to satisfy clientspecific requirements.
  • Design develop and deliver customized safety training programs in a variety of different venues i.e. classroom online simulator etc.
  • Research and review uptodate training curriculum delivery and techniques and apply to the safety training program.
  • Follow specific curriculum development schedule as set by supervisor.
  • Deliver appropriate training as scheduled by supervisor. Some travel is required.
  • Follow up and report all customer complaints to supervisor.
  • Identify key safety organizations and maintain relationships.
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of other resources available to Autry Technology Center clients.
  • Identify new clients and opportunities and report them to supervisor.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of class coordination supervision of support staff instructors and clients.

2. Assist in defining shortrange and longrange goals in assigned programs.

3. Keep informed of and interpret laws regulations statutes rules and policies affecting safety programs.

4. Maintain professional competence through participation in professional educational and leadership activities and keep apprised of instructional/technological changes in safety training for business and industry. Keep apprised of trends and changes in business and industry safety issues.

5. Develop relationships with clients through training and connect them to other areas of the school.

6. Identify equipment needs and work with supervisor to ensure all necessary training equipment and supplies are available and in working order.

7. Assist in creating consistent quality in facilities.

8. Assist in maintaining a program of public relations that serves to promote understanding maintain a positive morale and keep the public informed regarding Workforce Development activities needs and successes.

9. Assist in upholding and enforcing the policies and procedures of the Board of Education.

10. Prepare and submit reports and other documentation as required by the leadership at Autry Technology Center.

11. Participate in administrative staff meetings and other school meetings and functions as required.

12. Be neat in appearance and work with people.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL FACTORS:

  1. Physical demands include bending stooping kneeling pushing pulling reaching handling finger dexterity feeling learning hearing near acuity far acuity depth perception accommodation field of vision naturally or with correction isolation close areas good eyehand coordination.
  2. Be able to lift 50 to 100 lbs.
  3. Perform under stress when confronted with emergency critical or unusual situations.
