Senior Engineer Infrastructure
Location M5 J10 Gloucester/Solihull
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join the Highways team at Galliford Try. You will work on our Infrastructure project and frameworks Ideally you will be based locally.
As a Senior Engineer you will take full responsibility for setting out engineering control and quality in addition to coordinating and mentoring the site engineering team.
- Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
- Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating the project and resources.
- Coordination of subcontractors to ensure they achieve programme outputs.
- Write review and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Write review and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ensure works are carried out as per ITPs including correct engineering checks hold points inspections and tests.
- Manage the site engineering team delegate tasks train & mentor junior engineers and lead by example.
- Control and update programmes/attend coordination meetings and daily/2week/monthly and 3 monthly lookaheads as required.
- Ensure works are in accordance with the Specification Highways Works (SHW) Project Works Information and drawings.
- Raising design related Request for Information (RFIs) and Technical Queries (TQs).
- Ensure accurate and timely records are kept including site diaries quality assurance documentation (QA) photos asbuilt surveys redline drawings and test results.
- Constant communication and liaison with the commercial team providing detailed information to allow for accurate financial reporting including compensation events (CE) and early warnings (EWs).
- Manage snagging system that records and clears all snags and notifies commercial team and subcontractors.
- Control and minimise waste on site.
- Identify/assist in introducing new process techniques and innovations on site.
- Ensure all company property under your control is taken care of and stored securely when not in use.
About You:
- Ability to work safely.
- Read & Interpret data and drawings.
- Advanced setting out techniques and able to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS preferred.
- Relevant Civil Engineering experience (Highways Rail water or aviation).

Site Engineer Highways
Location M5 J10 Gloucester/Solihull
What you will be doing:
Purpose of the role:
As a Site Engineer based on our major highways project in Gloucester you will work closely with the Senior Engineer and wider site team to provide setting out and engineering control on site.
What you will be doing:
- Create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate site engineering activities including information sharing with operatives and subcontractors.
- Complete daily diary sheets and provide required photographic evidence.
- Perform material reconciliations and ensure accurate records.
- Calibrate surveying equipment and conduct asbuilt surveys.
- Produce 2D & 3D site sketches and assist in maintaining quality records.
- Assist in basic planning mentoring junior engineers waste control and introducing new processes.
About you:
- Work safely and interpret data and drawings accurately.
- Proficient in standard setting out techniques including Level EDM and GPS.
- Flexible work attitude with strong problemsolving skills.
- HND or degree with relevant CSCS card and experience.
- Office 365 expertise and relevant field experience.
