Job Description:
The Office of the Attorney General has a vacancy for a Data Collection Analyst & Panel Coordinator (Research Assistant) within the Investigation Division in Augusta. This position will collect analyze and present reports facts and statistics relevant to the Elimination of Profiling in Maine the Deadly Force Review Panel and the Maine Elder Death Analysis Review Team (MEDART). The position will also be responsible for responding to and processing requests under the Freedom of Access Act i.e. public access to government records.
This position will conduct research and obtain records collect and distribute national reports and studies track data document case review data collaborate with law enforcement agencies consultants grantors and other relevant agencies maintain and update databases and compile data and information surveys.
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate and write clearly and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:
A six 6 year combination of education training and/or experience or demonstrated ability to learn FOAA law and public dissemination practices use of various reporting databases familiarity and understanding of the legislative process ability to learn law enforcement protocols and administrative systems and digital media platforms. Must be proficient with Excel and data tables and capable of preparing official reports.
