POSITION SUMMARY:
Overseeing the daily operations of the schools cafeteria ensuring that nutritious highquality meals are prepared and served efficiently in accordance with health and safety regulations. This role involves managing kitchen staff food preparation maintaining inventory and upholding food safety standards. The Kitchen Supervisor fosters a positive teamoriented environment while ensuring meals are served on time and students are provided with a welcoming dining experience. Additionally they handle scheduling training and performance evaluations to keep the kitchen running smoothly. Ensures all guidelines are strictly adhered to with regards to the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education USDA and local Board of Health.

Required: Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of task listed
Required: Massachusetts Servsafe Certified
Preferred: Two 2 or more years of previous food service experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITY:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with staff and students.Must have knowledge of food service equipment and of institutional meal preparation. Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions in English. Must be able to understand basic math. Proficiency in standard inventory procedures familiarity with food allergens and Serve Safe certification are also required.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The position requires a moderate amount of walking standing sitting climbing stairs and a step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching bending twisting grasping pushing and pulling objects. The position requires lifting of 40 pounds on a frequent basis and over 40 pounds occupant is required to work indoors. The regular chemical solvents used are cleaning fluids. The occupant will be exposed to extreme heat / cold conditions. The occupant is expected to wear vinyl gloves and proper hair restraints when serving and working with food. The occupant is expected to follow the uniform policy.

School Nutrition performance of this job will be evaluated as per the Food Service Association (Unit N) Contract.
