Looking to join a dynamic company in an exciting role CGI s Linguistic Services team is hiring a FrenchtoEnglish Translator & Proofreader!
If you have translation and proofreading experience strong writing skills and an eye for detail we d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities
The candidate will work in collaboration with the team as well as various departments and internal clients to deliver communications that align with CGI s brand voice and are adapted to the target audience.
Translating and proofreading texts of varying complexity (proposals presentations training manuals internal communications social media posts deliverables white papers CVs etc.;
Translating and proofreading content primarily focused on IT payroll and human resources management ensuring accuracy and consistency in highly specialized subject matter.
Initial proofreading of English documents before their translation to French;
Final proofreading of content translated to English by a colleague to ensure a flawless final product;
Communicating with clients to clarify meaning ambiguities etc. as necessary;
Collaborating with the team s coordinator to ensure that deadlines are met;
Conducting terminology research;
Using and maintaining the team s translation memories;
Use and integrate authorized automated translation tools and AI platforms in line with company policies to optimize translation workflows.
Providing linguistic support to internal clients;
Completing the various steps of a translation or proofreading assignment and delivering the final product to the client within the set timeframes;
Participating in the archiving of completed projects and maintenance of the team s resource database;
Collaborating with linguistic teams in other departments and adhering to CGI s brand guidelines to ensure a consistent and cohesive company voice.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
We are looking for someone proactive who has a passion for languages. Essential qualities to be successful in this position are attention to detail team focus and autonomy.
Bachelor s degree in translation or equivalent training and experience;
A minimum of 5 years of experience translating French to English in a business setting ideally in a financial or technological field;
Excellent command of written English with a strong understanding of written French;
Strong communication skills;
Good knowledge of writing assistance tools and terminology dictionaries;
Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint;
Experience with translation software particularly Trados Studio (asset);
Knowledge of IT terminology (asset);
Familiarity with payroll and human resources management concepts and terminology (asset);
Intellectual curiosity attention to detail and the ability to work independently;
Sense of responsibility and strong prioritization and organizational skills;
The ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
