Job Description
Position: ElementarySchool Psychologist
Position Type: Fulltime
Department: Special Education
Location: District
Reports to: Building Principal/Director of Student Services
Affiliation: WEA Unit A
Salary range: As Determined by Unit A contract

General Description:
Watertown Public Schools seeks a skilled school psychologist with a growth mindset to join our team of educators at Watertown Public Schools.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing consultation to teachers staff and parents regarding teaching students with diverse learning needs
- Provide counseling services to students to address issues that are interfering with learning i.e. individual groups
- Conduct psychological evaluations and write thorough evaluation reports including educationally relevant findings and recommendations
- Conduct screenings as requested through Student Intervention Team (SIT) processes and IEP and 504 Team processes
- Crisis intervention
- Participate as needed in SIT IEP and 504 Teams
- Author relevant sections of IEPs and 504 plans
- Write quarterly progress reports
- Documentation of services provided
- Provide trainings for teachers staff and parents regarding the role of a school psychologist in an educational setting
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree required
- Current Massachusetts DESE licensure as a school psychologist
- Flexibility with respect to caseloads age groups and scheduling
- Experience as a school psychologist in a public school setting
- Experience assessing preschool and elementary children
- Experience with the following instruments. Required skill in administering the WPPSI WISC V (IPAD format) WIAT 3 DAS VMI BRIEF 2 BASC 3 Vineland. Additionally experience with the following are preferred: NEPSY DKEFS Brigance EDDT BVAT GARS.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit stand walk talk hear operate a computer handheld learning devices and other office equipment reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
