Job Description
Position Title: Special Education Teacher / with possible coaching duties
Location: Franklin High School
Salary Range: See salary schedule
Length of Work Year: 10 months
Position Summary:
The teacher will work to provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. The teacher will develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels. They will work in selfcontained team departmental or itinerant capacity as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education/Certification/License: Valid Texas Certification/ Valid Special Education Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills: Prior Special Education teaching experience preferred;
Knowledge of Admission Review and Dismissal committee process and Individual Education Plan goal setting process and implementation.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in all subject areas.
- Develop and implement student IEP goals and objectives
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents students principals and teachers.
- Create a classroom environment conductive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of students.
