Position Summary:
The Facilitator (K12 will collaboratively create a systematic program for the content area in which they serve for all District educational institutions. This is a commitment in which you reapply every two years.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work collaboratively with District teachers to develop and adopt a K12 curriculum aligned with state standards and District expectations
- Plan and coordinate professional development opportunities (PD days Early Release Days and/or Instructional Mondays)
- Plan and coordinate District 5th Grade Field Day
- Mentor new teachers to the district
- Conduct classroom observations and provide teacher feedback
- Develop and manage budget
- Participate in regularlyscheduled districtwide facilitator meetings
- Serve as a liaison between Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction building principals teachers students and parents.
- Make presentations to the Board of Education as needed
- Attend offcampus meetings workshops and trainings that have districtwide impact
- Serve as lead learner and instructional expert for the team
- Participate in district hiring
- Support develop and/or maintain relationships with external partners
- Perform all other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of effective instructional practices curriculum development and professional development principles
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to use effective interpersonal skills necessary for the successful coordination of committees collegial groups and to maintain professional productive relationships among colleagues
- Knowledge of and consistent adherence to Board policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications noted below are required to enable the employee to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this position.
- Masters Degree strongly preferred but not required
- Deep and demonstrated knowledge of the content
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Superior interpersonal skills.
- Recognized as a highly effective teacher by cohorts building and District administration
