Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childrens Residential Support Worker (Waking Night) to join our inhouse team in Southwark. You will be part of a committed service providing overnight care and support to children and young people with emotional behavioural and complex needs including learning disabilities.

Pay 20 per hour
Responsibilities
- Deliver highquality personcentred care in line with individual support plans.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment that supports the emotional and physical wellbeing of children and young people.
- Carry out domestic duties during the night including light cleaning food preparation and general household tasks.
- Safely store administer and record medication in accordance with the services medication policy.
- Support with personal care behaviour management and crisis interventions when necessary.
- Maintain uptodate records including care plans daily logs and handover notes.
- Assist with planning and implementing tailored activities goals and support strategies.
- Attend external settings when required (e.g. hospital police station).
- Participate in regular supervisions training and development activities.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures and safeguarding policies at all times.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each childs needs.
- Communicate effectively with children families and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
- Drive to various locations as required for activities or appointments ensuring safe transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that may occur during support sessions.
- Engage children in activities that promote learning and development fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Monitor the wellbeing of children addressing any concerns promptly and appropriately.
Experience
- Has previous experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting (desirable).
- Demonstrates empathy patience and resilience in challenging situations.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding health and safety and child development.
- Is a strong team player with excellent communication and recordkeeping skills.
- Is committed to delivering high standards of care in line with Southwarks values and regulatory requirements.
- Is flexible and willing to work waking night shifts on a rota basis.
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or support role is essential.
- Familiarity with IT systems for recordkeeping and communication purposes is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are crucial for interacting with children families and colleagues effectively.
- Experience in developing or implementing care plans will be beneficial for this role.
