Position Overview
The Special Event Technician II will be responsible for all preparation and maintenance of the WSRC Facilities providing a safe clean and wellmaintained facility for securing promoting and hosting a variety of Special Events. Will have minimum of 1 year experience in making minor Carpentry Plumbing and Electrical repairs; regularly inspect facilities making minor repairs or improvements and report to the Assistant to the Executive Director any necessary repairs needing materials or contracted vendor requests.
Will complete set up and tear down of WSRC held Events providing access to secured areas as needed for lessees to view set up hold and tear down Lessee held events. Special Event Tech II will serve as Supervisor of Special Events Technician I and any volunteers assisting with Special Event operations in locations other than shooting ranges. Will ensure all tasks are completed in timely manner while operating in compliance with all lDNR methods and procedures. and assist in providing oversight of Special Event Scorer/Loaders.
Essential Functions
- Ensure preparation and maintenance of the WSRC facilities is completed.
- Assist with setup to include: setup tables/chairs clean up areas before/during/after events haul trash litter pickup light grounds keeping such as lawn mowing eating etc.
- Perform minor carpentry plumbing electrical repairs.
- Supervise lower level staff and volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge skill level and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Requires minimum of 1 year experience in making minor carpentry plumbing and electrical repairs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Prefers ability to operate simple equipment such as UTV; lawnmower; eater etc.
Employment Conditions
All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment with or without reasonable accommodation to be considered for this position.
- Must be a minimum of 17 years old;
- Possession of a valid Drivers License;
- Requires capability to lift carry transport up to 25 pounds;
- Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities including manual maintenance/labor tasks;
- Requires availability to work most weekends and some nights or holidays;
- Requires ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some long shifts up to 910 hours;
- Ability to pass background check;
- Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
