The 202526 faculty grid for this position is $73263 to $112656 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Masters will be paid at a higher range.

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator who thrives in a dynamic innovative environment Mulgrave School is seeking a highly motivated MYP Individuals and Societies Teacher to join our Middle School team and inspire our students in their exploration of the humanities.


At Mulgrave School we are committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for our diverse multicultural student body. As an educator here you will have the unique opportunity to teach students in Grades 610 within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). You will play a key role in fostering curiosity critical thinking and a love for learning while providing a safe and inclusive space where every student belongs.


What Youll Do:

  • Teach IB MYP Individuals & Societies for Grades 610 fostering student engagement in the humanities through dynamic lessons.
  • Homeroom Advisor: Act as a mentor to a group of approximately 12 students guiding their academic and personal growth.
  • Extended Essay Supervision: Assist students with their research projects providing support and mentorship.
  • Potential for teaching an elective subject in our LEAP programme or even Diploma Programme (DP) courses such as Economics Geography History or Theory of Knowledge.
  • Contribute to Cocurricular Programming: Engage with students beyond the classroom through sports clubs and outdoor education experiences.

Who you are:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching humanities to adolescents with a passion for middle school education.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen Permanent Resident or valid work visa).
  • BC Teacher Certification or the ability to obtain it before beginning employment.
  • A deep understanding of MYP or a willingness to learn and implement the IB framework.
  • An enthusiasm for connecting with students both in and out of the classroom whether through athletics clubs or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students colleagues and parents.
  • Experience with the IB MYP or DP and a genuine passion for international education.
  • Involvement with the IB Educator Network (Workshop Leader Examiner etc..
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team while also excelling independently.
