We are currently looking for an exceptional individual for the new position of the Irene Fisher Assistant Curator at Gus Fisher Gallery. This role will provide dedicated curatorial programming and administrative support to the Curator of Contemporary Art and the wider team on a fulltime basis for a fixed term of two years. At an important point of growth for the gallery we are looking for someone who can bring new knowledge to the team and help us fulfil our potential as the premier University art gallery in Aotearoa New Zealand and a leading centre for contemporary art.
This role is generously supported by the Gus Fisher Charitable Trust.
Accountabilities
This is a fulltime position for a fixed term of two years. This role will be appointed at $64500 per annum.

You will have around 35 years demonstrable experience of working in the contemporary visual arts sector in an art gallery context. You will have a track record of contributing towards the successful curation of arts exhibitions including working with artists on new commissions. You will be knowledgeable of artistic practices in Aotearoa and the Pacific with a good awareness of curatorial and artistic practices internationally. You will thrive in a small team and have excellent interpersonal skills with proven abilities to foster good working relationships with a range of people and backgrounds.
