Job Description
Overview
Assists team in design of usually small lesscomplex material handling systems including analysis of customer operations developing designing and engineering project management and integration of multiple technologies. Exposure to data analytics and simulation.
Responsibilities
- Assists engineers to design small lesscomplex endtoend material handling systems that integrate multiple technologies such as sortation conveyors automated storage and retrieval systems robotics voice and light picking systems and supporting structures
- Assists engineers to detail design and engineer scalable spaceoptimized storage systems including rack systems shelving and pick modules that maximize customer efficiency
- Performs data collection and analysis to define design criteria.
- Develops 3D simulation and emulation models to validate system design equipment controls and system software
- Uses economics analysis tools to determine return on investment for selected concepts
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- Studying for a degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering or related academic experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking and problemsolving skills
- Ability to learn new technologies
- Proficient with Microsoft products
- Knowledge of process improvement processes and mathematical modeling of systems
- Knowledge and experience in objectoriented software development and/or scripting.
- Knowledge of statistical models and distributions.
- Knowledge of databases and query languages preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
