Job Description

Counsel Labor & Employment Los Angeles CA

Our client a prestigious global law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Counsel with 34 years of experience to join their Los Angeles office. This is an exciting opportunity for a California employment law attorney to take on a highimpact role with opportunities for professional growth advancement and potential future consideration for Partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employment Litigation:

    • Defend individual and class action wage and hour disputes including PAGA claims in court and arbitration
    • Draft and argue motions pleadings and dispositive motions
    • Attend court appearances and hearings
    • Handle discovery including drafting and responding to discovery requests
    • Manage meet and confer letters and negotiations
  • Employment Counseling & Compliance:

    • Advise clients on California employment law matters including discrimination harassment retaliation and wage & hour compliance
    • Draft and review employment policies severance agreements and employee handbooks
    • Respond to government investigations and regulatory inquiries
    • Provide strategic advice on risk mitigation and compliance strategies

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABAaccredited law school
  • 34 years of labor & employment experience with a strong background in California employment litigation
  • Active California Bar membership or eligibility to waive in
  • Excellent legal research writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced highperformance environment

Compensation & Career Advancement:

  • Base Salary Range: $225000 $250000 (compensation based on experience level)
  • Path to Senior Counsel & Partnership Opportunities for advancement based on performance contributions and firm needs
  • Business Development Support Reimbursement for client development activities with additional firmsponsored coaching for attorneys achieving 250 business development hours in a performance year
