POSITION FUNCTION:
The ManagerLINC Convenor Program supervises program workers and works collaboratively with other MOSAIC programs and staff colocation agencies community organizations and stakeholders to develop implement and evaluate the LINC Convenor program.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direction/ Management/ Coordination
Overall coordination and planning of deliverables (outputs and outcomes) and ensure delivery of the program is
consistent and professional
Facilitate curriculum and resource development for teach training program LINC Gathering LINC Settlement Language
working group Settlement Language Advisory Committee
Coordinatewith other Service Provider Organizations (SPO) to compose strategic and action plan for the sector create
a repository for sector training resources
Communication
Provide direct settlement information and support to all stakeholders of Convenor program: other SPO and IRCC
Supervise the promotion and marketing of all programrelated activities
Work closely with the Managers of other Programs
Participate/lead team partnership departmental allstaff and relevant community meetings inservice training and
other training as assigned
Business Development
Maintain working knowledge of emergent issues
Coordinate the development of innovative services and resource materials that support sector
Assist senior manager to identify emerging sector needs
Participate in ensuring development and submission of reports proposals and budgets for Convenor project in a timely
manner
Community/ Partner Relations
Act as a resource for community organizationsstakeholders and partners to collaborate with MOSAIC to build LINC
sector capacity
Work in partnership with community organizations and stakeholders to organize and coordinate sector
education/information/resource events
Attendconsultations meetings and conferences on issues relating to settlement newcomer labour market integration
community development and connections and policy dialogue
Promote MOSAIC as a crossregion stakeholder and service provider for immigrants and refugees through leading
Settlement language working group Settlement language advisory committee and organizing LINC gatherings across
the BC Yukon region
Financial Management
Work with the senior manager and the Finance Department to ensure financial integrity and accountability for the
Program
Assist the senior manager and Finance Department to prepare contract budgets
Monitor contract budgets cash flows variances financial statements reports and expense records
Human Resources
Hire/retain train supervise and evaluate Program staff; ensure completion of proper documentation
Develop and support staff to reach their potential
Ensure completion of performance evaluations and review and update of job descriptions for settlement workers and
program support staff
Ensure implementation of MOSAICs policies and procedures
Assist the senior manager to develop program/service standards policies and procedures in accordance with CARF
Reporting
Ensure timely accurate completion of narrative and data reports
Regularly inform the senior manager on the progress of contractual outputs and outcomes
Compile reports and service statistics for the senior manager on emerging issues and community trends developments
settlement services and funderrelated feedback
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree program field (e.g. TESOL) other areas in the humanities or education or high school completion and a diploma in an area such as Management Volunteer Development Community Development or Community
Social Services
45 years working in all aspects of LINC program service area; community development; 12 years experience in
program management; implementing organization policies and procedures; working with newcomers from different
ethnocultural minority communities.
Knowledge in settlement services staff supervision volunteer management community development practices and
programming (with an emphasis on capacity building and coordination) financial management human resource
management; standard office equipment
Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to dialogue individual client and community issues to funders and
community partners
Excellent communication skills both verbal and in formal report writing
Demonstrated skills in community development
Presentation and publicspeaking skills
Research and analysis problem solving skills
Organized and able to set priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to take initiative
Tactful discrete diplomatic patient flexible
MS Office suite (e.g. Word Power Point) publishing software database software
Able to work independently and lead a team
Financial management
Fluency in a second language is an asset
Willingness to travel as needed
BC Drivers License is required
Sitting standing bending and ability to lift 10kg
HOURS:Fulltime 35 hours per week) fixed term until March 31 2028
The successful candidate must be able to commute to the primary office in Vancouver 2555 Commercial Drive) at least twice per week inperson.
COMPENSATION: $69360.20 $71716.84 annual salary
BENEFITS:
A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
