Job Description

Brightshores Health System Health System (Brightshores) operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region serving a population of over 170000. The Owen Sound hospital is a Level 2 regional referral centre offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia Medical Imaging Obstetrics/Gynecology Oncology Hospitalist Medicine Internal Medicine Critical Care Pathology Paediatrics Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT General/Thoracic Surgery Ophthalmology Orthopaedics Urology).

Thriving rural hospitals are also located in Lion s Head Markdale Meaford Southampton and Wiarton servicing a range of ambulatory inpatient and emergency needs. Another five hospitals located within the region also refer to our specialists.

Facilities

With annual ER volumes of over 90000 visits across Brightshores hospitals 24hour labs excellent specialty backup and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (CT MRI PACS capability videoEEG) our modern facilities are very well equipped.

Service Delivery

We have an opening for one fulltime Otolaryngologist to join our team. Specialists provide oncall support inpatient surgical services and outpatient consultations and followup to a wide catchment area of over 170000 residents and more than 2 million shortstay visitors each year.

Operating Room and Ambulatory Care time is based at the Owen Sound hospital as part of the Division of Otolaryngology shared equally amongst the group. Additional OR and/or Ambulatory Care blocks can be facilitated at additional hospitals in the region.

Provide comprehensive Otolaryngology care including diagnosis treatment and surgery for a wide range of ear nose and throat conditions

Collaborative with other healthcare professionals to deliver patientcentered care

Optional participation in teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Call coverage is shared equally between division members and is 78 days per month total (this includes 1 in 6 weekend calls



Requirements

Qualifications

Interested candidates will ideally hold applicable FRCSC designation and an independent license to practice in Ontario.

Individuals with special interest in Facial Plastics and Reconstructive including skin cancer treatment are welcomed but not required.
