About the Role

We are seeking skilled and experiencedDisability Support Workers to join ourSupported Independent Living (SIL)team. You will support 5 people with disability living in shared housing inKirrawee providing various supports including personal care and daily living.

The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include high behaviours of concern (including high volume swearing) high medical needs high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.

The successful candidate must be able to commit to the setpermanent part time roster below:

• 35 hours per fortnight:
  • Week 1: Tue 17:30pm Wed 69:30am and Sun 26pm
  • Week 2: Mon 611:30am Wed 27:30pm and Sun 11pm 9am (active night)

Key Responsibilities

• Follow personcentred support and behaviour plans
• Provide assistance with High Intensity daily personal activities
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
• Maintain thorough record keeping
• Build positive relationships with clients families and colleagues
• Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

• Experience working with people with disability
• Previous experience working behaviours of concern
• Prior experience working with high medical needs
• Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
• Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
• An unrestricted Australian drivers licence
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
