We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join a dynamic and wellestablished medical team in Derby UK. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and enhance acute medical services while delivering highquality patient care within the NHS.

As an Acute Medicine Consultant you will play a crucial role in the management of acutely unwell patients supporting the assessment and early treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. You will work closely with emergency and specialty teams to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) ensuring timely and effective patient assessment diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide highquality care for acutely ill patients working collaboratively with emergency medicine and specialty teams.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of acute care pathways and service improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and support junior doctors nurses and allied healthcare professionals in the delivery of acute medical care.
  • Participate in ward rounds acute take admissions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Engage in clinical governance audits and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care.
  • Deliver teaching and training sessions for junior doctors medical students and other healthcare


Requirements

Full GMC registration with a license to practice.

CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine (or equivalent).

Extensive NHS experience in acute medicine.

Strong leadership communication and clinical decisionmaking skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
