We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant CPA to join our Accounting team in Kansas City! The Financial Reporting Accountant is critical to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our audit reports and financial disclosures. This position will work closely with the internal accounting team management and external auditors to oversee the audit process and engagement. What Youll Do

  • Compilation of annual audit reports and financial disclosures ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards (U.S. GAAP historical cost or Fair Value) regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and review accompanying notes to the financial statements ensuring accuracy consistency and compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
  • Assist in coordination of the annual financial statement audits liaising with the accounting team and external auditors to facilitate the audit planning fieldwork and reporting phases.
  • Manage audit requests by coordinating with crossfunctional teams gathering necessary documentation and ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Collaborate with the audit team to identify and resolve any discrepancies variances or issues that may arise during the reporting process.
  • Conduct technical research to stay updated on accounting principles regulations and industry best practices and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
  • Coordinate with internal accounting teams to facilitate the efficient adoption and implementation of new accounting standards and changes in reporting requirements.
  • Establish controls for maintaining consistent application of accounting procedures and policies.
  • Provide support on various transactions such as acquisitions divestitures and restructurings ensuring proper accounting treatment and disclosure.
  • Identify implement and maintain a reporting software solution to streamline and enhance the reporting process.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects and requests that arise within the scope of the role.

  • Accounting or business degree required.
  • Masters in business or accounting (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • 3 5 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
