As part of this transformation National Grid has built a new team Digital to infuse our organization with digital builders across product management design and engineering. We offer flexible remote working arrangements in the Northeast region of the US and in London in the UK. We have physical offices in Boston MA and Brooklyn NY in the US and Birmingham in the UK. We are hiring digital builders at all levels to support our mission to enable a fair and affordable transition to a clean energy economy.

Job Purpose

National Grid is seeking an adaptable and resultsoriented Lead Product Manager to lead a crossfunctional Product Team with end to end ownership and accountability for the product.
You will enable your team to take a speed wins approach to building and shipping features that strikes the right balance between time to value and delivering effective functionality.
You will make tough tradeoff decisions that result in both a successful initial launch and quick datadriven iteration.
You will connect your teams work back to objectives the management team cares about helping the project team to clearly understand the importance of their work. You will effectively leverage user feedback to uncover unmet needs to validate a new concept or to improve an existing product.
You can effectively leverage user feedback to not only get feedback on individual features but to help inform your teams roadmap.
You will be responsible for the outcomes driven by your team with the ability to make effective adjustments to direction or process to maximize those team outcomes. As your team is hitting diminishing returns you will recommend where to shift that investment

Key Accountabilities

Lead a cross functional Product team one or more squads within a larger cross functional Product Team
Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions
Work with strategic design to gain an understanding of user personas pain points and journeys knowing how that informs the roadmap
Provide insights into product technology and market trends
Develop feature lists user stories and roadmaps
Gather and manage product feedback through surveys concept testing analytics tools and A/B testing
Monitor and report on product KPIs
You will set and achieve meaningful OKRs for your product and the team.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to scope design concept test and deliver innovative solutions
Assist with the development of business cases and operating plans
Assist in the development of materials to communicate progress to executives

Supervisory/Interpersonal Experience Required

Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
58 years of product management experience
Experience leading larger product teams delivering in a multisquad product model
Experience using influence without authority in the broader organization to unblock product teams
A strong understanding of agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle
A demonstrated and focused desire to build products and services that customers will love
Excellent communication (written and verbal) as well as storytelling skills
The capacity for selfmotivation independent initiative and creative problemsolving
The ability to manage time and schedules to meet deadlines
The ability to thrive in a fastpaced and intellectually demanding environment
