Independent insurance agency outside of Atlanta is seeking an Agency Accountant/Controller (bilingual preferred) to join their growing team!
MUST HAVE EPIC AND INSURANCE AGENCY EXPERIENCE!
Job Summary:
An established agency is seeking a skilled Controller with expertise in the insurance industry to lead financial operations and drive strategic financial initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to oversee diverse accounting functions ensure regulatory compliance and contribute to organizational growth. The Agency Accountant/Controller will be responsible for accounts receivable and payables including resolving discrepancies while working with employees vendors and banks ensuring the proper posting payment and accounting of transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage comprehensive accounting operations including Billing Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable General Ledger Cost Accounting Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements in a timely manner.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements effectively.
- Research and address technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with standards.
- Facilitate the monthend and yearend closing processes.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls for financial transactions and reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience as an Agency Accountant/Controller within the insurance sector
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- CPA is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and administration.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Must have Epic experience.
Compensation Package:
- Job Type: Fulltime with preference for onsite work Monday to Friday and potential for hybrid arrangements after the first few months.
- Salary: $70K$90K depending on experience and qualifications.
