The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.
ACS Division of Child and Family Wellbeing (CFWB) works to ensure critical supports to families and children and is rooted in the belief that all New Yorkers should have health resources and educational cultural and social opportunities that support their capacity to thrive. Through the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships (OCEP) CFWB invests in and collaborates with eleven funded Community Partnerships. CFWB is looking for a motivated Community Engagement & Partnerships Graduate Intern to join our OCEP team.
As a Community Engagement & Partnerships Graduate Intern you will work with our team to develop and deliver communications strategies to inform staff about community engagement. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to connect share information and design and implement wellbeing strategies informed by community priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in outreach to organizations and residents related to project activities and events
Collect and manage relevant project data (quantitative and qualitative)
Participate in staff meetings and work on special projects (independently and in a team)
Contribute as a thought partner in meetings to provide a student lens into OCEP work
Produce high quality emails and messages to individuals at all levels of the agency and members of the community/public
Draft meeting agendas manage meeting documentation and maintain an uptodate electronic filing system
Develop/design communications materials (i.e. PowerPoint flyers one pagers etc. via Canva or other software programs
Support event and training development and help team with planning and design of meetings events and trainings
Identify areas of research and conduct research (primarily online) on noted research questions
Provide on the ground support on event and training days to ensure seamless
Learning Outcomes:
Gain handson community engagement experience in a government setting

Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks and events
ADDITONAL INFORMATION:

Qualifications :
