High School diploma/ GED plus two 2 years of experience in performing tests in a research laboratory required.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Basic knowledge of the equipment used in a research laboratory.
Be willing to work with handle and perform laboratory mice experiments.
Be capable of formulating and making stocks of media and other chemical reagents.
Be able to keep organized laboratory records and notes.
Be proficient in Microsoft Word Powerpoint and Excel.
Have good communication skills.
Should not have prior allergies to laboratory mice and be able to move and clean pieces of laboratory equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree with collegelevel coursework in biology chemistry biochemistry and/or cell biology.
2 to 3 years of laboratory experience.
Prior experience working with laboratory mice.
Prior experience in sterile culturing techniques.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Harvest and process tissues from laboratory mice.
Isolate immune cells and prepare samples for flow cytometry microscopy etc.
Process analyze and present data as directed by the Principal Investigator (PI).
Train new laboratory personnel upon request.
Place orders obtain quotes fill and submit ordering forms track order status and receive orders.
Maintain records of laboratory inventories (reagents and supplies) and animal colonies.
Maintain laboratory equipment and common spaces (incubators water bath pH meter hoods and common lab benches.
Make stock solutions and autoclave.
Perform other duties as assigned.
