Job Description
The Management Communication Center at the Warrington College of Business is hiring adjunct instructors to teach in our undergraduate Professional Writing classes during the Spring 2025 semester. This position is for inperson teaching.
Ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule a passion for teaching and a strong grasp of English Grammar and Plain English style.
Adjuncts will be scheduled to work on an asneeded basis and paid $4600 per section.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher in an appropriate area (Communication English etc. or masters degree or higher in an unrelated area with a bachelors degree in appropriate area and relevant training or experience in appropriate area
- Teaching experience in an appropriate area (Communication English etc. at the college level
- Business knowledge and experience is preferred but not required
- Strong grasp of English Grammar
- Resume or CV (required)
- Teaching philosophy statement (optional)
Responsibilities:
- Lead twiceweekly inperson classes of 20 students
- Base instruction on Key Learning Objectives for the course
- Adhere to given syllabus and assignment schedule
- Follow established course curriculum and course principles as determined by lead instructor
- Develop engaging section activities appealing to diverse learners
- Connect inclass materials to business communication concepts
- Promptly return student work and promptly reply to student and administrative emails
- Attend scheduled adjunct team meetings
- Hold weekly office hours (minimum 1 hour per week per section)
