The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.
ACS Division of Financial Services (DFS) is responsible for supporting planning implementing and monitoring the fiscal functions of the agency in accordance with City State and Federal guidelines. Within DFS the Executive Unit is responsible for oversight of eight finance departments including (Budget Payments Audit Policy Central Eligibility Office Systems Support Office and Claiming and Revenue) as well as other operations matters related to Administration and Personnel. DFS is looking for a highly motivated and detailoriented Administration & Operations Graduate Intern to join our team.
As an Administration & Operations Graduate Intern you will support our Executive team in daytoday operations and contribute to longterm projects aimed at improving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of the operations of a 300 workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with documenting policies and processes and reviewing for usability and consistency in efforts to consolidate into a divisionwide manual
Assist with developing templates and processes to ensure smooth communication across departments
Collaborate with leadership to ensure completion of requests related to agency/divisional goals
Support the Chief of Staff and Executive Director of Operations with personnel and administrative projects and assist with special projects
Help organize and coordinate events and workshops
Learning Outcomes:
Gain comprehensive knowledge of HR operations in a government setting.
Develop skills in managing employee relations and understanding HR compliance.
Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks and events.
ADDITONAL INFORMATION:
Section 424A of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with childcaring responsibilities has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report.
