Objective:
Provide Safety leadership mentoring support and development for the Didipio OHS Manager and OHS leadership team through the provision of tier1 industry safety leadership experience and practices with the primary intent to ensure sitewide achievement of consistent and effective implementation of the OceanaGold Safety Management Systems and initiatives.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Mentor the Health & Safety leadership and wider team to enhance their impact and effectiveness.
- Coach and where needed facilitate incident investigation processes to ensure quality outcomes delivered in a timely manner to reduce future business risk.
- Assist in the review of existing work procedures to identify opportunities for improving hazard controls and operational safety.
- Coach advise and support the site team in implementing and auditing Health & Safety Plans and Procedures.
- Carry out risk assessments as required and implement systems to manage identified risks.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the volunteer emergency response team processes capabilities and practical learning experiences.
- Lead and coach planned safety inspections housekeeping projects and other safety initiatives
- Coach the continuous improvement and delivery of training programs and processes.
Qualifications :
- Relevant qualification is OH&S or related discipline (eg Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification)
- 10 years experience in Health and Safety with minimum 5 years in a Health and Safety leadership position preferably with in Mining industry
- Proven capability of coaching safety leaders and utilization of influencing skills to proactively address safety concerns.
- Strong skills in hazard identification critical control application incident investigation and corrective action planning.
- Proven experience in delivering WHS training and fostering a safetyfirst culture.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of staff.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate and drive an outstanding safety culture.
