Who are we looking for

Were looking for a Safety and Training Advisor to work with our client Main Roads WA.

This position is working full time hours and based in the Bunbury office on a 12 fixed term contract.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Facilitate site inductions mandatory safety training and refresher courses in alignment with legislative requirements client standards and site procedures
  • Evaluate training needs across the workforce support Verification of Competency (VoC) processes and ensure workers are trained and authorised for their roles and tasks
  • Manage and update training data in the Learning Management System (LMS) ensuring records are accurate audit-ready and aligned with compliance and reporting requirements
  • Provide on-site safety advice coaching and mentoring to promote safe work practices. Participate in hazard identification inspections and safety meetings as required
  • Assist with incident investigations audits and training reviews to identify gaps and recommend improvements to training content delivery methods and compliance systems.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and training compliance requirements across relevant jurisdictions and industry standards
  • Knowledge of national training frameworks and competency-based training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in using LMS software and reporting tools
  • Background in high-risk or regulated industries (e.g. mining construction energy) preferred.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Certificate in Lead Investigation (ICAM)
  • Internal Auditor certification
  • Collecting specimens for alcohol and drug testing
  • Construction White card
