As part of DCIs HSE team the Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety protocols conducting safety meetings audits and inspections to evaluate compliance identify corrective action and implement follow up activity and assessments.
The Safety Coordinator will be based in our Cleveland OH branch and will be a resource to and travel monthly or bi-monthly to our Chesterfield MI branch.
Hourly rate is $29 to $32 an hour dependent on experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides branch teams with guidance on health and safety procedures.
- Monitor that all work is performed in accordance with internal policies and procedures contract documents and good manufacturing and service practices.
- Perform risk assessment and coach a safety mindset.
- Learns plans implements and maintains environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations.
- Plans implements and conducts preventative care safety and compliance training programs in conjunction with the HSE Training team.
- Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification investigation and case management.
- Maintains detailed logs of Safety Equipment checks throughout facility.
- Arranges for repairs/service checks of any Safety Related Equipment/Tools.
- Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities reports and correspondence.
- Proactively assists with other production activities as needed.
- Provides support as appropriate to team members and supervisors.
- Participates in team meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maintain good attendance
- 2-4 years of relevant industry experience; hazardous waste large scale commercial industrial project oil gas or other related fields.
- Current certifications in First Aid CPR OSHA Construction Safety and Industry Standards are a plus - not required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Gmail Google Sheets etc)
- Basic IT knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Strong ability communicate positively authentically and influence all types of personalities.
- Familiarity with IBC Facility processing.
- Conceptual planning & organization skills.
- Conflict management & problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates high level of follow through ability.
- Meeting and presentation skills.
