Job Summary:
The Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a fulltime tenuretrack position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin August 2025. Initial review of applications will begin on November 1 2024 and continue until the position is filled. We are seeking an outstanding scholar and teacher to fulfill important roles in both our APAaccredited Ph.D. program in Clinical Health Psychology and in our undergraduate psychology program. We are interested in applicants with a background and research interests in clinical health psychology with a strong record of research productivity and potential to secure extramural funding. Candidates with research backgrounds in all areas of clinical health psychology will be considered. Candidates with research interests related to BIPOC and minoritized populations health disparities and issues related to intersectionality are particularly encouraged to apply as are candidates who can enhance the departments commitment to diversity through research teaching supervision and outreach. Applicants will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses to mentor and supervise diverse undergraduates and clinical health psychology graduate students and to participate in service activities. The Department currently has scholars working in the following areas: psychooncology palliative care psychedelicassisted psychotherapy cardiovascular health psychology spirituality and health daily health behaviors telehealth neuropsychology couples functioning pain opioid addiction integrated primary care infant and child development and postpartum depression. The successful applicant will join nine existing graduate faculty in the teaching and mentoring of Ph.D. students and a broader group of 23 faculty within the psychology department as a whole. In addition to colleagues within the department the nearby University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus provides rich opportunities for collaboration. The position requires a Ph.D. in clinical psychology (or closely related field) from an APAaccredited program. Preference will be given to applicants who are licensed or licenseeligible to practice as a psychologist in the state of Colorado. Further departmental information may be found at is a position for a clinical health psychologist with scholarly and pedagogical interests in multicultural psychology diversity equity and inclusion. Specificallywe seek candidates with a demonstrated expertise in teaching mentoring and conducting research with diverse students that addresses clinical health psychology from a multicultural with one or more of the following focus areas are encouraged to apply (though not limited to): multicultural psychology and health social determinants of health discrimination and health implicit bias in the healthcare system health disparities and equity poverty and health racial identity development and health structural racism and intergroup processes in the healthcare system. We are particularly interested in a program of research that addresses culture ethnicity race sexual orientation gender diversity immigration status lived experience socioeconomic status age geographic location (e.g. urban rural) and/or (dis)ability. This position is on the downtown Denver campus. It is a 9month academic appointment with 40 teaching 40 research and 20 service expectations.

The above salary range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is nonexempt.
