The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Human Resources Representative for the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee Illinois to serve as FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) Coordinator. Performs professional human resource duties for the evaluation interpretation analysis and of specialized human resource activities. Reviews and processes employee requests for FMLA. Serves as facility coordinator for all Leaves of Absence (LOA). Provides advice and counsel to staff regarding interpretation and application of Personnel Rules department rules regulations policies and Pay Plan. Maintains updated Leave Report in an electronic spreadsheet. Assists in a variety of human resource activities. Maintains files and documentation of all employees leaves of absence.
Serves as FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) Coordinator for the Shapiro Center.
Serves as facility coordinator for all Leaves of Absence including but not limited to Veterans Leave Child Care Leave Family Responsibility Leave General Leave Leave for Elected Office Educational Leave Military Reserve Training and Emergency Call Up Leave. Reviews and approves all employee requests for LOA verifying validity of requests with rules and regulations.
Maintains updated Leave Report in an electronic spreadsheet.
Assists in a variety of human resources activities for the employees including personnel transactions job descriptions filling of vacancies employment of staff promotions transfers etc.
Maintains files and documentation of all employees leaves of absence.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four 4 years of college and one 1 year of professional experience preferably in human resources or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
Three 3 years of professional experience in a private or public organization maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism.
Two 2 years of professional experience working the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) group insurance and Leaves of Absence (LOA) for a public or private organization.
Two 2 years of professional experience performing human resources duties in the evaluation interpretation and of specialized human resource activities.
Two 2 years of professional experience dealing with a high volume of information sorting information into like categories and verifying by a systematic method the reliability of held information.
Two 2 years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while multitasking multiprojects.
Two 2 years of basic proficiency working with computer programs such as Microsoft Word Excel etc. including developing spreadsheets and tracking information within a database.
Two 2 years of professional experience reading assimilating and maintaining electronic copies of files information data and recalling with a reasonable degree of proficiency facts and figures.
Requires the ability to work after business hours weekends and holidays.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers.
Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
