About the Role:
Ready to make an impact Join our dynamic Campus Recreation team as an Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships! In this role youll be at the heart of shaping highimpact events and cultivating partnerships that span across departments and the community. As the goto person for complex multidepartmental and universitywide events youll play a key role in delivering outstanding experiences that impact our students staff and the entire campus community.
Your mission To provide expert coordination and oversight of largescale events ensuring seamless while working closely with campus partners and external organizations. Whether youre facilitating an exciting studentfocused event or collaborating with other departments for impactful Campus Recreation activities your energy and leadership will make a huge difference!
What Youll Do:
Event Leadership: Take charge of coordinating complex events that involve multiple departments and have a broad impact across the university. Your focus will primarily be on studentcentered events but youll also work on campuswide initiatives and collaborations that support the mission of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs.
Strategic Planning & Operations: Assist in setting the strategic direction for key facilities such as the Outdoor Recreational Sports Complex Esports Arena and the Student Activity Center. Help prioritize operations ensuring that these highdemand spaces run smoothly whether theyre hosting internal or external groups.
Community Partnerships: Be a champion for cultivating new and exciting community partnerships that not only enhance student experiences but also boost traditional and nontraditional revenue streams for both the department and the university.
Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with a variety of departments and external entities ensuring that all events and operational tasks align with the universitys goals. Your ability to connect people and ideas will be key in fostering a collaborative environment that drives success.

Illinois Residency Requirement:Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System outofstate candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days will result in immediate termination of employment.
Classification:State Universities Civil Service System Classification Number: 3266 SUCSS Classification Title. For more information on Civil Service classifications please visit the State Universities Civil Service System website at: who qualify for preference must provide proof of eligibility within ten 10 working days of submitting an application. The required proof of eligibility includes at a minimum a copy of the veterans DD214/DD215 form (Department of Defense) NGB22 form (National Guard) or Discharge Orders or DD256 Discharge Certificate (Reserves).
