Position Summary
The Sport Management Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during theandacademic years. The successful candidate will teach one or two undergraduate (Sport Management B.A. or graduate (Sport Leadership M.A. courses per semester. Delivery of undergraduate courses may be inperson or online (both synchronous and asynchronous). Applicants should identify if they are local (with the ability to teach inperson or online) or nonlocal (only available for online courses). The role requires someone who can deliver course content contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments evaluate and grade student work and hold office hours to assist students. These appointments are on a coursebycourse basis. This posting is continuous to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. For a list of courses offered in this area please review: Faculty Associate (adjunct) positions are hired on one semester renewable contracts with loads that do not exceed 8 credit hours; one course per semester is the norm. The standard undergraduate course is 4credit hours (though other course types exist) and the standard graduate course is 3credit hours each. The position is a nonbenefits eligible fixedterm appointment with no tenure eligibility. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs funding and sufficient enrollment. Required Qualifications: Masters degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline) at the time of appointment. All degrees must be from an accredited institution. A terminal degree is preferred. Desired Qualifications: Prior higher education teaching experience preferred Experience facilitating studentled classroom discussions Evidence of working with a diverse student population Evidence of effective collaboration skills Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas) Excellent written and verbal English communication skills The review of applications will occur as the College has needs for a particular course .
