The Resident Mentor plays an important role within the Division of Education and Student Experience under the Pro ViceChancellor Student Success by being a leading example to student residents in their professional and personal lives and by working closely with the Dean and Deputy Dean to facilitate the academic social and cultural life of the College.
Resident Mentors (RMs) live with the students on their floors and provide daily academic and pastoral support. RMs arent teachers but theyre a little like a supportive older sibling with experience to pass on and a willingness to help guide the residents.
Some of the duties involve: taking an active role in floor and College events participating in meetings and training assisting in the overnight/after hours oncall Duty Roster mentoring students in meeting their academic requirements as well as promoting respectful relationships between residents. The successful person will be the first point of contact for all residents living on their floor in UNSW Hall. This is what the accommodation looks like: will vary from week to week depending on student needs as well as what you have going on with your study or other professional commitments. The successful candidate will be expected to start asap with contract ending early December 2025.
