Job Description
AECOM is seeking highly qualified Resident Engineers to lead construction inspection and contract administration activities on transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary representative on-site overseeing contractor performance and verifying compliance with project plans specifications and applicable regulations
- Manage daily inspection activities field staff and project documentation
- Coordinate with NJDOT NJTA municipal stakeholders contractors and AECOM project management
- Monitor project schedule budget and quality metrics proactively addressing issues as they arise
- Review and process contractor submittals requests for information and change orders
- Prepare progress reports maintain accurate records and participate in project meetings
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental compliance requirements
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Level IV certification in Transportation/Highway Construction
- The ideal candidates will have significant prior experience on New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) projects
- Proficiency with NJDOT and NJTA specifications policies and construction administration procedures
- Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection and contract administration experience on transportation projects half of it in the capacity of Resident Engineer
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey
- Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with electronic project management and documentation systems (e.g. Primavera CapEx NJDOT Site Manager)
