Starting Pay:
EntryLevel Firefighter: $55000/annually
Certified Firefighter: $60000/annually
*AEMT license adds $5000 to annual pay
*Paramedic license adds $11500 to annual pay
Anticipated Start Date: June 9th 2025
Testing will take place on MondayMarch 31 2025. Once you have passed the written and physical exam you will be provided an interview time throughout the week. Outofstate and outoftown candidates (more than two hours) will receive scheduling priority. It is not guaranteed that you will be interviewed on the same day as the receive a test invite and further testing instructions pleaseRSVP by emailing with your full name and that you plan to attend.Only candidates who RSVP to the email listed will receive test day instructions and be permitted to test. City of Franklin HR will send you confirmation that you have met the requirements and send you test day instructions. You must also complete the online application.

The City of Franklin Fire Department uses the FPAT (Fireground Physical Ability Test) for the physical ability test and a demo of the FPAT can be found here: will be two practice dates available for candidates who would like to go through the course prior to test day.
Physical ability testing will take place at Fire Station 7 at 1972 John Fitzgerald Drive Franklin TN 37064.
The practice sessions are not required as part of the hiring process and are available to candidates on a voluntary basis. Must be 18 years of age to participate.

Under general supervisionperforms all duties of a firefighter which includes fighting fires salvage and rescue work and administering minor first aid. Completes regular training sessions and performs some maintenance work on the fire station and vehicles as required. Reports to the Captain and/or Lieutenant.
