You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) is seeking up to two interns for the spring of 2025. WAC internships aim to provide students pursuing artsrelated degrees with workforce skills in arts administration programming and arts education through paid internships. Interested candidates will be asked to identify their area(s) of focus. Internships are available at the Wyoming Arts Council or with a partner arts organization located around the state. Internships are intended to support and build sustainability for Wyomings arts and culture sector by providing workforce development opportunities for students and by partnering with nonprofit or government arts organizations.
Area of Focus: Arts Administration
Purpose: To provide crucial experience in aspects of arts administration not often taught in formal settings including fundraising budget management grants administration or working with nonprofit boards. This internship would include working alongside current arts administrators to gain understanding and experience targeted to students interested in working in a nonprofit setting or for a government agency.
Area of Focus: Arts ProgrammingPurpose:To provide experience with project management including research and development budgeting implementation and evaluation. This could include planning special events developing and implementing public programs or longterm programmatic planning. This internship would be targeted to students looking to enter a career in programming through a variety of outlets including government local/civic nonprofit organizations or museums.
Area of Focus: Arts Education
Purpose: To provide students with an introduction to arts careers within education including developing and teaching classes or workshops or conducting researchbased projects related to arts education in Wyoming. This could include projects like tracking postgraduate job placement for students with art degrees developing curricular support for teaching artists or teaching classes at an arts organization. This internship would be geared to students with a background in the arts and a specific interest in education.
PREFERENCES:
Interns must be pursuing an artsrelated degree at one of Wyomings community colleges or at the University of Wyoming.
Students currently serving on the Wyoming Youth Arts Council are also eligible pending parental/guardian approval.
If transportation is required for the internship selected interns must be at least 18 years old be able to provide their own transportation and carry an active automobile insurance policy.
