As a Project Architect/Engineer in the Site and Civil Engineering (SCE) Department within the Project Portfolio Management Group you will work under the supervision of a CERN Senior Project Manager coordinating tertiary construction projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Phase of Tertiary Buildings:
- Participate in all design phases from feasibility studies to construction documentation.
- Coordinate and evaluate designs prepared by external architects engineers and contractors.
- Coordinate designs with internal technical specialists (e.g. MEP);
- Oversee the design approval process in collaboration with building endusers.
- Construction Phase of Tertiary Buildings:
- Work alongside the project manager and external consultants to ensure construction complies with contractual drawings specifications and regulations;
- Support the review of contractors designs variation requests claims and compliance with BREEAM/WELL certification requirements;
- Monitor project progress quality schedule and budget assisting in risk management and mitigation strategies;
- Manage interfaces between the contractor and CERN stakeholders ensuring effective communication and coordination;
- Assist with commissioning documentation handover snagging lists and takeover procedures.
- General Project Support:
- Provide administrative support including taking meeting minutes document management and quality control;
- Assist the project manager in any additional tasks required to ensure the projects success.

- Work experience in architectural and/or civil engineering design and/or construction
- Work experience in consulting engineering contracting or project development (client side)
- Use of MS Office applications

- Fluent in English the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Architectural or Civil Engineering (or a related field) and have either:
- a Masters degree with 2 to 6 years of postgraduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of postgraduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
