What you will be doing:
- Acts as the key contact for the Housekeeping Colleagues ensuring information is communicated procedures are in place standards are met and challenges are resolved
- Lead and supervise the daytoday operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed
- Handles general inquiries by Room Attendants regarding guest requests and may provide information concerning daily operation of overall housekeeping department.
- Responsible for daily room assignments and houseperson assignments ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the housekeeping operation
- Handle guest concerns and react quickly logging and notifying the proper areas
- Actively participates and assists Housekeeping Managers in daily briefing
- Assists with inspecting VIP rooms
- Ensure Room Attendants are informed daily about priorities in their section
- Report necessary maintenance items with work orders and service requests
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
- Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
- Ensures Fairmont standards are met and exceeded
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Postsecondary education preferred or equivalent
- Strong leadership and decision making skills.
- Computer literacy is required (including excellent typing skills proficiency in MS Word Outlook and Excel).
- Previous supervisory experience in a similar environment will be an asset with a proven ability to train mentor and deliver professional friendly and engaging service.
- Proven ability to help implement change successfully lead and motivate colleagues
- Strong organizational supervisory and communication skills
- Must be proactive with a meticulous eye for detail
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful highpressure situations
- Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guest
- Must be able to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy followthrough courtesy cooperativeness and work well with limited supervision
- Impeccable grooming and presentation
- Experience with hotel Property Management System desirable
- Demonstrates initiative selfmotivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- The position of Senior Assistant Housekeeper is physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work as well as lifting bending kneeling and carrying heavy loads.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
