About the Role

We are in an exciting phase of growth and this is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join us and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services across our organisation!

This role will work closely with various teams across the organisationto manage the endtoend payroll process for both our permanent and sessional staff as well as our offshore teams.

Youll play a crucial role in ensuring all team members are compensated accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with payroll legislation and contributing to process improvements.

This is a permanent position based at our Sydney campus offered as fulltime or parttime 4 days per week).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage weekly payroll for sessional academic staff 250 monthly pay for permanent staff 100 and monthly service fees for offshore team members 40

  • Business Insights: Generate and analyse payroll reports to support decisionmaking and compliance reporting (e.g. PIR IHEA CRICOS).

  • Process Improvement: Contribute to payroll system improvements and standardisation projects. Periodically check and update software licences for relevant systems

  • Stakeholder Support: Act as the first point of contact for all payrollrelated queries and maintain strong relationships across departments.

  • Payroll Administration: Prepare payroll journals perform reconciliations and support internal and external audits. Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure timely payments to ATO and Superannuation assist with payroll tax and workers compensation lodgements and manage monthend and yearend payroll processing including STP submissions.

Education Experience and Skills:

  • 5 years of endtoend payroll experience ideally in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation awards and compliance
  • Experience in payrollrelated accounting processes including journals and reconciliations

  • Proficient in MSOffice365 and payroll software
