SAFETY HEALTH ENVIRONMENTAL and SECURITY MANAGER
Overview
TheSafety HealthEnvironmentalandSecurity(SHES)Manageris the subject matter expertresponsible on allsafetycompliance position ensures compliance withall applicable safety healthand environmentalregulations including air water qualitywaste management spillresponse and wastewatertreatment facilitiesoperationsfor theRed DiamondPlant inMcArthur Ohio.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The positionisresponsiblefor the SHEScompliance of a1300acrecomplexwithfiftyvarious use buildingswhichsupportproductionofchemically manufacturedenergetic materials and packaged explosives used incommercial applications.
- Abilityto upholdthecompanys mission visionand values.
- Ensuring licensing and regulatorycompliancewith allapplicableregulations includingenvironmental healthsafetysecurity andtransportation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to worksuccessfullywiththe following agenciesincluding OhioEPAEPA DOT/PHMSAATF DHS/CFATSNFPAFRA and OSHA/MSHA ensuringrequirementsfor an explosive manufacturingfacility are met.
- Oversight of waste management andwastewater treatment facilitiesoperation to ensure adherenceto proceduresandcompliance
- Maintain positive and cooperative relationship withregulators (regulatory agencies) andthirdpartyconsultants to achieve andmaintainfullcompliance
- Accurate and timely communicationsto agencies as required.
- Understand maintain verify and complete permitting (EPA (NonTitle VNPDES RCRA) according to annual compliance calendar.
- Manage tothefacility spillresponse procedures emergency plan and RCRAcontingency plan.
- Investigate unplanned events and reportinternally and externallyaccording to the process.
- Daily weekly monthly safety report outs to appropriate functioning area (i.e. production management leadership etc. on unplanned events changes compliance etc.
- Maintain and review monthly SHES reporting and capital projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Associateor bachelorsdegree in environmental Safety IndustrialHygieneEngineering or arelatedf
- Minimumof 6 years professional experience inenvironmental health andsafety in a manufacturing environment
- Minimumof 1 year experienceworkingcloselywith industrialwastewater treatment facility operations
Skills Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrate visible leadershipon plant with a roll up your sleeve
- Collaboratively works withplant management engineers maintenance operations andcorporatesupport functions on SHES related.
- Maintain andupdate emergencyresponse andcontingency plans health andsafety plans(applicablesafetyRCRA SPCC SWPPPetc.. Includingcampus wide emergency drills and training
- Champion the implementationof SHES procedures policiesguidelines andtraining
- Managethe datacollection operation andcompliance of environmental abatement system
- WorkwithTrainingCoordinatorto develop andmaintain allSHES training needs including specializedsafetytraining SpaceLOTOFall Protection other) andrecurring site employeerefreshertraining asrequired.
- Knowledge of OSHAs Process SafetyManagement(PSM)regulationsrequire
- Strong environmentalcompliance background (wastewater air hazardouswaste)
- Ensure all environmentalrecords information andreportsrequiredfor regulatorycompliance or perCompany policy are maintained and safeguarded per policy.
- Knowledge ofCFR 49HAZMAT Regulations andhow they applytocompanyto plant operations.
- Maintain incident/injuryrecords andreport onSHES KPIs
- Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Effective communication skills both oral andwritten with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Strongwork ethic and desireto take ownershipand driveresult
- Demonstrate elevated level of competenceofexisting regulations and managing changes/updatesinregulations/policies(SPCC SWPPP HMBP etc.
- Decisive and able tomake highquality decisions evenwhen based on incomplete informationor intheface of uncertain Readily ableto distinguish between what isrelevant andwhatisunimportantto makesenseofcomplex situations.
