Position at Pilgrims

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:
Sanitation workers are responsible for disassembling cleaning sanitizing and reassembling production machines as well as cleaning and sanitizing production areas. It is mandatory to complete Safety Training including but not limited to LOTO Food Safety/GMP training Chemical training and any other training deemed necessary to become qualified to complete required job duties. Can be assigned other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to work quickly in a fastpaced environment with repetitive motion work.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work overtime as assigned.
Must be able to work in a refrigerated/cold and/or hot environments with temperatures ranging from 10 degrees to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two and threesyllable words and to recognize similarities
and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak
simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract twodigit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement
volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or twostep instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and use
hands to finger handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and
arms. The employee is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch
or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision
peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
For this position it is required that the employee is able to:
  • Use hands and arms to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Keep up with the physical demands needed to complete assigned tasks
  • Walk or stand for extended periods of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and/or hot and wet environments. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
