Role Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Salaryper annum dependent on experience
Type Permanent
Location Llandudno
My client manufactures bespoke equipment products for multiple industries. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Llandudno on a permanent basis.
The will ideally have the following attributes:
- Experience FEA prototyping and development of equipment or products (essential)
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 35 years of industry experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ideally have some experience in a precision industry
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and instrumentation
- Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulic systems
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Inventor SolidWorks or similar
- Experience supervising others or managing teams would be ideal
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Have excellent communication skills with experience in a customerfacing role
- Be a flexible teamplayer
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multidisciplinary team
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
- Supporting delivery and development of both new and existing products in the R&D team
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Being involved the prototyping FEA testing and final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects
- Occasional travel to exhibitions and trade shows
