The Role: What Youll Do
As the Music Teacher at Veritas Prep High School youll implement a music curriculum for grades 911 that will inspire students knowledge love and creation of music. As our first high school music teacher you will collaborate with the leadership team to build a vision for the music program as we continue to grow. Youll plan and deliver highquality instruction daily and collaborate with a growing team of enrichment teachers to ensure students have access to engaging enrichment classes that enhance their education and prepare them for collegelevel work.

Youll also:

• Build a music program that offers a variety of opportunities for students to engage with music
• Teach all 9th and 10th grade music classes offering four sections of music each with a unique focus
• Teach a Seminar course focused on college career and life readiness using the Naviance platform and a curriculum aligned with our college partners
• Utilize and continually strengthen your deep content knowledge to prepare highquality effective lessons
• Learn contribute to and use schoolwide routines and systems that help our school run smoothly and keep the focus on teaching and learning
• Use data to make decisions and to support the growth of our students in the classroom
• Support the development of valuable college and career readiness skills and embed this skillbuilding into your lessons and daily interactions
• Build deep relationships and actively partner and communicate with parents families and community partners
• Engage in learning about and supporting antiracism diversity equity and inclusion in education
• Support a schoolwide studentcentered culture providing opportunities for student feedback and leadership
• Participate in weekly or biweekly coaching meetings incorporating feedback into daily teaching and planning practices

• Participate actively in weekly planning meetings with fellow enrichment teachers to build a positive culture in your classrooms
• Teach students valuable socialemotional skills and embed this skillbuilding into your lessons and daily interactions

What Youll Need

• An unwavering belief that all students can achieve amazing things
• A passion for continuous growth as an educator
• Two to three years of teaching experience (preferred)
• Bachelors degree
• Ability and desire to build and implement a visual art curriculum
• Have or be eligible for a MA teaching license in Music
• Current authorization to work in the United States a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment
