(Daily Occasional)
Hours of Work : Callin basis MondayFriday from September to June
Rate of Pay: Daily Rate: $23.28 per hour vacation pay
Longterm Assignment Rate : $25.56 per hour vacation pay
Permanent Rate: $25.56$28.26 pension and benefits
Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
Educational assistants support students with many diverse needs. This work provides support for the behaviour safety medical and physical needs of a student. Duties may include lifting toileting positioning and transferring children and equipment and application of Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) (training provided). Educational assistants support students both individually and/or in a group setting.
Availability to accept assignments on a casual basis during the day and with short notice.
Qualifications
- Educational Assistant Diploma and/or experience deemed equivalent by the Board
- PostSecondary Degree/Diploma in a related field of study (Child Youth Worker Developmental Service Worker Social Service Worker)
- Experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and schoolbased experience is considered an asset
- Flexibility patience empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs classroom teacher and Administration
- Candidates must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the position such as running/walking on uneven ground lifting positioning and transferring children and equipment and utilizing Behaviour Management System techniques where required
- Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools
- Availability to accept assignments on a casual basis during the day and with short notice.
