Job Description

Our client is a leading National Law Firm and are looking for an experienced litigation paralegal to join their team in Miami. This is a hybrid position!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation of all elements of evolving commercial litigation case and knowledge management systems including file management (electronic and hard copy) case calendaring task lists and commercial litigationrelated deadlines.
  • Meet and confer with attorneys clients and other professionals to discuss cases projects and ongoing client development initiatives.
  • Draft legal documents including routine retention and fee applications; draft orders; prepare exhibits; file motions and pleadings in accordance with judicial procedures.
  • Prepare and file proofs of claim and assist with the claims reconciliation process.
  • Research and analyze case management procedures local court rules and statutes for compliance.
  • Review and monitor case dockets to identify summarize and circulate relevant pleadings and applications.
  • Manage hearing preparation and support including scheduling of telephonic appearances and preparation of hearing binders.
  • Prepare organize store and retrieve case information which may include depositions pleadings exhibits and other items.
  • Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation.
  • Develop and maintain time records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
  • Actively participate in weekly team meetings

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree with seven to ten years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic filing through Federal and State courts.
  • Familiarity with fundamental commercial litigation concepts and court pleadings
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
