WORK LOCATION: Algiers Algeria
PROJECT DURATION: 12 MONTHS WITH EXPECTED FOLLOWON WORK WITHIN THE DoS PROGRAM
The position functions as the project architect providing OBO/Algiers a full range of critical architectural and construction quality assurance and management and technical oversight of the Algiers Chancery Facade Replacement. The incumbent is responsible for performing technical inspections monitoring the contractors quality control program and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance. This position is established to support and assist OBO/Algiers in ensuring the completion of the project in accordance with contract requirements.
- Ensuring that the contractor is performing the required contract work in accordance with the design documents
- Reading design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations reviewing engineering shop drawings and determine if the contractor has complied with the final design parameters
- Observing onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed formed and executed properly
- Performing quality assurance tasks ensuring contractors work is properly inspected and corrective actions take place ensuring materials meet contract reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with contract requirements and resolving conflicts
- Monitoring the construction contractors quality assurance and safety program observing onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed formed and executed properly
- Monitoring construction progress visvis the project schedule and submit weekly progress reports with recommendations based on the technical review of project documents and field inspections
- Performing technical inspections of the architectural elements of the project
- Interpreting drawings in his/her discipline and have an understanding of the principals of his/her discipline and how it fits in with other disciplines
- Reviewing shop drawings and submittals from the contractor and determine if coordination with other disciplines is necessary in addition to monitoring ongoing construction work to identify problems or noncompliance with design or contract specifications
- Preparing construction reports detailing construction progress and identifying any problem with the construction process related to the incumbents area of expertise after problems are discovered evaluating contractors proposed remedy formulating solutions for the Project Director/Construction Manager working on the construction site will be performed to U.S. standards; the incumbent should have current working knowledge of acceptable products and procedures
- Designing /Building Faade renovation of existing chancery building
- Developing working knowledge of all technical requirements of project
- Providing Quality Assurance for ongoing construction project.
- Coordinates the development of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.
- Prepares Monthly Progress Reports and attends meetings summarizing project status with emphasis on engineering
Requirements
- An architecture degree from an accredited university and a minimum of seven years of experience required on construction projects of similar scope and dollar value to the project supported by this Task Order
- Must have Final Secret Interim Top Secret (ITS) or Final TS security clearance issued by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) at the time of proposal
- Knowledge of International Codes required
- Experience in assessing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI)
- Experience in reviewing and evaluating design calculations and data from an engineering perspective
- Knowledge of Construction Safety regulations i.e. EM 38511 OSHA etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite i.e. PowerPoint Excel and Word required

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET ELIGIBILITY
